good to hear positive news on the park and see the old photos. is the sundial still there ? it was always in shadow!
perhaps your local artists/sculptors/groups can exhibit in the park to generate public interest. There will be a new food festival in the park where I live now. Something to think about over in Dids?

Many thanks for your suggestions, Johanna. We will certainly look into them. The sundial plinth (the style is broken) is still there - in the shade! We are planning to replace the style and plate, and move the sundial to a sunny position, possibly where the drinking fountain used to be.

Congratulations on a lovely site. Marie Louise Gardens is a haven in the city and it is great to be able to go there across the ocean.

Has anyone else seen the cute squirrel in the gardens with the deformed right paw??? He's my favourite and loves the nuts I hand feed him! ( or her....) We call him Ian. ( After Ian drury! ) Another chap who comes to the park calls him Hoppy! Anyone else given him a name???

I grew up visiting Marie Louise and have many memories preserved there of special people and times. What a great website and initiative to protect the Gardens! I will be pledging my support. Well done.

What a fab web site - well done and good luck with your work to support this special little park to be restored and enjoyed by all. I look forward to escaping work in Hulme occasionally, to walk in the gardens.
